Loose Coir |
|
Fibre |
Coir fibre is the husk of the coconut. It is used as a basic filling material, mainly in the manufacture or re-upholstery of furniture. Loose coir fibre would be used as an alternative to the more traditional horsehair, where a natural filling material is required, but at minimum cost.
ENKEV will normally, only supply loose coir fibre after it has been treated with a fire retardant (F.R.), so that it will comply with current fire safety regulations.
Coir Fibre. F.R. is supplied in 13 kilogramme bags.
In special cases, such as a requirement on medical grounds or restoration work etc. we can produce a non-F.R. version of Ginger coir, this again would be available in 13 kilogramme bags.
As an alternative to the standard Black Coir Fibre F.R., we would suggest you consider using the Black Coir Fibre F.R. and 80/20 hair mix, or one of our other hair blends. The inclusion of curled hair in the filling material will provide extra resilience to the end product.
